On emulator-x86-kk, run-gdb.sh fails with the error below:

The problem disappears if I change the gdbserver binary from current version 6.6 to 7.6(the gdbserver 7.6 prebuilt binary is available in emulator-x86-l).

Should we upgrade the gdbserver for emulator-x86-kk?

Don't we have the same FD leak if you run 'run-gdb.sh' to start b2g from scratch?

gdbserver 7.6 can only solve the attach issue in comment 0. The FD leak error when start b2g from scratch still exists.

Remove the review flag since we need gdbserver 7.7 for emulator x86.

I compiled gdbserver 7.7 with the following steps, but when I try to run ./run-gdb.sh there will be an error, and './run-gdb.sh attach' works fine.

1. clone source from
https://android.googlesource.com/toolchain/gdb.git 

2. configure with android toolchain
CFLAGS="--sysroot=$B2G_PATH/prebuilts/ndk/8/platforms/android-14/arch-x86" ./configure --host=i686-linux-android

3. copy the following files from prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/host/i686-linux-glibc2.7-4.6/sysroot/usr/include/

	platforms/android-14/arch-x86/usr/include/bits/wordsize.h
	8/platforms/android-14/arch-x86/usr/include/sys/procfs.h
	8/platforms/android-14/arch-x86/usr/include/sys/reg.h
	8/platforms/android-14/arch-x86/usr/include/sys/user.h

4. Disable Werr in Makefile

5. make

Cyu, Can we review and land 7.6 for debug purpose? We can try to update it to 7.7 when we get a working one.

Sure. We can upgrade gdb host/server to 7.6 and then have a followup for upgrading server to 7.7 to fix the FD leak.

r+ this change since we need gdbserver 7.6 to make attaching work before we have gdbserver 7.7 ready.
