Since some days (No more than 4 or 5 I bet), the length of the tooltips seems to be fixed to a certain length. For example, go this page http://www.gamedata.com/pc/tribune/tribune.asp?pg=1 and let your mouse staying above a nickname in the board. After some seconds, it'll display the User Agent and the IP in a tooltip. With an "old" build (2001112803), the length of the tooltip is the length of the text that it has to display. With today's build (2001120808), it lengthens just 95 chars, and never more. I'm using W2K.
I retried on today's build (2001121303) on w2k. It doesn't work more. Could anyone look at that ? It is really annoying not to have tooltips that fit to the length of the text...

The original URL doesn't work for me, but this one does http://www.aventis.com/main/0,1003,EN-XX-25710---,FF.html to get the tooltips move the mouse pointer over a red-highlighted word. Marking as new based on the dup and my own experience. win98, build 2001-12-13-03

tooltips have a max-width, they have always had a max-width
Any idea why max-width didn't seem to matter until a week or so ago? Hewitt, if max-width is now enforced where it wasn't before, and theme authors just have to cope, we still need a release note for 0.9.7. Are you all over that? /be
max-width was always enforced - however, I forgot to put crop="right" in the tooltip binding, so cropped tooltips don't have the pretty ... that they used to have, which showed people why they were shorter than their text.
Is there a way to have tooltips longer than those 95 chars ? Havint a mention of that in the release notes is good, explaining how to have a comportement similar to MSIE or Opera (which don't use any max-width for the tooltips, they just made them fit the text like it was in 0.9.6) is better, IMHO.
