When deleting multiple messages (at the same time), the current message selection moves to the last message in the list. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Delete a single message. 2. View behavior. 3. Delete two (or more) messages. 4. View behavior Actual Results: You should have seen the message selection reproduce just like the bug description specified. Expected Results: Consistency in behavior with regards to the current message selection.
commercial build: 2001-12-11-06 win98, mac os x, linux Checked this on both local folder(user defined folder) and an imap folder(inbox) Deleting single message selects the next message in the list Deleting multiple messages (continous selection) selects the next message in the thread pane and not the last message. Deleting multiple messages with (non continous selection(ctrl))selects the next message from the 1st message selected that was deleted. Please use a recent build. Marking worksforme since the behavior is as it should be.

I've tried again using a later build (2001121015) and can duplicate the behavior I specified.
Can you provide exact steps because as how to reproduce this. Do you have messages in threaded mode? POP or imap folder? Does it depend on how the messages are deleted? I mean toolbar, menu item, context menu etc.
Using IMAP - sorted by Date (ascending current to oldest).

Reopening this bug. Reporter, Please mention which delete model you are using. This will help in narrowing down the problem. This bug still happens only with imap delete model and not when you have " move to trash" Reassigning. There might be an older bug on this.

This happens over IMAP using SSL - I have it configured to "Mark as Deleted" (no moving to Trash, etc.)
Ah.. forgot that detail.. also using IMAP over SSL.
