Let thunderbird auto config email account for [e-mail]


Actual results:

Auto filled from ISP database with
imap: imap-mail.outlook.com 993 SSL normal password
smtp: smtp-mail.outlook.com 587 STARTTLS normal password


Expected results:

Auto Fill using supplied XML:
imap: outlook.office365.com 993 SSL normal password
smtp: smtp.office365.com 587 STARTTLS normal password

FYI we're transitioning to hosted office365 using @siue.edu addresses which is why the description page currently shows different server configs. We wanted to get this in place for easy transition of users.

This never was added. Best thing for you is to use https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Thunderbird/Autoconfiguration?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Thunderbird%2FAutoconfiguration#Small_company you host it yourlsef , you update it yourself :)

Andrew, please see comment 3. This should be a self-hosted config. The ISPDB is only for ISPs with millions of users.

Since this got self-hosted, I'm changing this to WORKSFORME.  Note that unfortunately https://autoconfig.siue.edu/mail/config-v1.1.xml does not work because the cert is only valid for sharepointapps.siue.edu and so if/when Thunderbird changes its configuration, things will break.  However, since this is an office365 config, if/when any clients (and possibly the ISPDB) specialize things to handle the MX ambiguity in bug 1185366, things will work.
