Environment: FF 40 Build Id: 20150405030238 OS: Mac Os X 10.9.5, Mac Os X 10.10.3 STR: 1. Start Firefox. 2. Go to Nightly->Preferences->Advanced 3. Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available" 4. Restart Firefox. Issue: Firefox is started as a blank window that has visible only the OS related buttons( eg minimize, maximize, close window and resize buttons) Note: This issue is reproducible only on Mac Os X .
Is this something we could try catching with automated tests?

We are trying to sort out the approach that would let us catch things like this. In the meantime, I wonder if this is related to bug 1150765 and if the problem goes away if security.sandbox.content.level is set to 0.

Also reported in bug 1151644 (possible dupe)
I don't see this problem on my machine, unless I also set layers.acceleration.disabled preference to true. See the bug mentioned in comment 3.

Do you still see this with bug 1151644 fixed?

OK. I am closing this bug. It has been probably fixed somewhere else.
