We are planning to do a substantial rework of the XMLHttpRequest documentation (hopefully relatively soon, time allowing) in order to update it to use our current documentation structure and style, as well as to apply updates to the content itself. This material would be written as part of that project. I can't offer a specific timeline, but it's definitely on the list.
