tl;dr we have a work around to be able to go to the next song as we might not get the 'ended' event.
We should make remove it and make sure work as expected, and do that in the longer 3.0 cycle as it will give us time to verify it.
This is a follow up on bug 1145758.

Also it is not just about removing the work around. This should fix the fast forward when paused bug.
