Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0 SeaMonkey/2.33.1
Build ID: 20150321194901

Steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure that you have the Ghostery plugin installed and running
2. Open private window (file => new => private window)
3. Go back to the normal window
4. Just do your usual stuff there

Actual results:

Some websites just don't load. Sometimes after you fill out a form, sometimes just a normal website doesn't load and you get an empty space. This doesn't happen every time, but regularly.

Expected results:

Sites should load like normal.
NOT reproducible with EN-US Seamonkey 2.33.1 (German Language pack) Gecko/20100101 Build 20150321194901 (Default Theme) on German WIN7 64bit and Gostery 5.4.3.

After having proceeded as per original report I have been working 20 minutes in Browser without any unexpected observation

@Reporter
a) Of course your problem might be related to the websites you visit, so we need
URLs of those pages for our tests
b) How did you figure out that the problem depends on Gostery and Private window?
c) how did you exclude other possible reasons?
d) did you already do the normal standard tests like trying a different
profile, reboot PC and so on?

a) As for the Websites: Random Websites are affected. You might notice during normal browsing. Just keep the private window open (and maybe open a website there). Maybe it is more likely that this happens if you are using sites where you post some content (forum, etc.).

b, c and d)
I had this problem on two different computers for quite a while now. First I figured out that this problem does not exist anymore in safemode with plugins disabled. Then I started everything like normal but only disabled the Ghostery-Plugin, and could reproduce that the site that didn't work before just loaded normally afterwards.

a) "Any Website" is not an URL. How can we know what you consider as
"normal"? May be you live in Japan and 95 % of websites you visit
are in Japanese language, and the problem is somehow related to Japanese
SeaMonkey localization or Japanese charset on site? It would take several
100 years until I as a German will stumble upon your problem.
So again: please tell us URLs you visited when you observed the problem.

Most of the Websites I used were German Language. ;)
But I'll keep the Privacy Window open the next day and will tell you the next URL since you didn't seem to detect one yet.

May be I found something: I did some Online banking in a private Window and additionally tried to open a second instance of Online Banking for a different Postbank bank account (<https://banking.postbank.de/rai/login>) in a TAB of a normal window, what failed, I only got a blank white page contents. But I will have to do some further tests concerning relation to original report.
Ah yes, that's exatly one of the use cases where I experienced this problem. Also on things like using the Amazon.at Website with two different accounts (one in the private window).

Interesting is that after the problem occured: Ater the Browser-Restart I didn't even have to open a website in the private window. Once the private window was open (and empty) that website didn't load in the normal window. When I closed the private window, the website loaded like normal on pressing the reload button.
I can reproduce reporter's observations reliably with 2 Facebokaccounts in the same was as per comment 5, but with facebook reproducible for everybody.
Preparation: You need a Facebook account with some firiends, interests and similar information, and an additional one only with minimum information. Additionally a google Calendar Account would be fine

First test with Ghostery running, but without Private Window (no problem)

0. Launch SeaMonkey Browser, clear browser cache, open 2-3 arbitrary TABs
1. 'Menu File → New → Browser Window'
» Window with Start page appears
2. Use bookmark for your normal facebook account
» Window with Start page appears
3. Log in to normal facebook account
» contents with your facebook info appears
4. with <alt + tab> switch to last TAB of step 0
5. Use bookmark for your *minimum* facebook account
» contents with your facebook minimum account info appears
» You still are logged in with normal faebook user account
6. No possibility to log in with other account
7. Use bookmark for your Google Calendar, Try to log in: no problems

Remember result, close all Windows and TABs, shut down SeaMonkey before new test.

Second test with Ghostery *disabled* in add-on-manager, *and* Private Window (no problem)

10. Launch SeaMonkey Browser, clear browser cache, open 2-3 arbitrary TABs
11. 'Menu File → New → Private Window'
» Window with some Privacy explications appears
12. Use bookmark for your normal facebook account
» Window with Start page appears
13. Log in to normal facebook account
» contents with your facebook info appears
14. with <alt + tab> switch to last TAB of step 0
15. Use bookmark for your *minimum* facebook account
» contents with your facebook minimum account info appears
» You are *NOT* logged in with normal faebook user account
16. Log in with your minimum facebook account:
   » works fine
» contents with your facebook minimum account info appears
17. Use bookmark for your Google Calendar, Try to log in: no problems

Remember result, close all Windows and TABs, shut down SeaMonkey before new test.

Third test with Ghostery running, *and* Private Window (shows the problem)
20. Launch SeaMonkey Browser, clear browser cache, open 2-3 arbitrary TABs
21. 'Menu File → New → Private Window'
» Window with some Privacy explications appears
22. Use bookmark for your normal facebook account
» Window with Start page appears
23. Log in to normal facebook account
» contents with your facebook info appears
24. with <alt + tab> switch to last TAB of step 0
25. Use bookmark for your *minimum* facebook account
» contents with your facebook minimum account info appears
» You still are logged in with normal faebook user account
26. No possibility to log in with other account
27. Use bookmark for your Google Calendar, Try to log in: Some stragne “Page has moved” Info will appear, fails, Link to where page seems to have moved is https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=cl&passive=xxxxxxxx&continue=https://www.google.com/calendar/render?tab%3Dcc&followup=https://www.google.com/calendar&scc=1, login will fail
28. But SeaMonkey Bugzilla Login will work fine

I think this is a bug.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
With steps from comment 7 NOT reproducible with FF 37.0.1.

@reporter:
do you remember whether that worked with older versions?

I
a) addet hit at <https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey/AddonCompat#Compatible>
b) Asked for assistance of Pete Knowlton (Ghostery team)
Summary: Websites not loaded when Ghostery and private window active → Websites not loaded when Ghostery-add-on and Private Window active
I only use SeaMonkey, so I never tried with Firefox.

But I'm not sure where it started. I guess ist must have been with 2.32, because AFAIR some versions before were not able to run the latest Ghostery-Plugin anyway.
It also seems that this happens if I have the Privacy Window open and use a different website in the normal window that requires login. Also if I post in some forum, the data get's posted but nothing will be displayed afterwards.

with the Update to 2.38 this stopped - but I guess only because Ghostery stopped to work there too...
