11554 - selection of lines not working properly

using 8/10 build of appruner

1) launch apprunner
2) launch editor
3) bring up default editor page
3) select using mouse from "This is a good place....acute entity"
4) then click Bold button

notice your selection disappears during step 4). To bring it
back you have to click on the originally selected text to see
it highlighted once again. Then hit Bold button again and it
works fine..

something got busted...this used to work fine before..

all platforms.
