From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011215
BuildID: 2001/12/15/08
When saving an image using right-click / save image, the default location (the
Mozilla directory) is offered every time in the save dialogue box, in preference
to the location to which the last image was saved. This is a serious retrograde
change since the last build I used (20011201xx I think) which used the normal
methodology (i.e., the save dialogue box defaults initially to the system
default, and thereafter to the location to which the last image was saved).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to URL above
2. Right-click on the montage pic of the ship at the top of the page.
3. Choose 'Save image'
4. Change the default location offered to (e.g.) your desktop and click 'Save'.
5. Right-click on the same image again, or on one of the other images on the page.
6. Pick 'Save image'.
Actual Results: The Save dialogue box will default not to the location you
picked last time, but to the system default.
Expected Results: Save dialogue box defaults to the last chosen location,
except on first use of the day.
It is hard to imagine that this new modus operandi will be beneficial to anyone.

Works for me on WinME 2001121608.
1. Save first image to desktop
2. Pick Save Image on second image, directory default is desktop
3. Save second image to D:\downloads
4. Pick Save Image on third image, directory default is D:\downloads

could be that age old OS you have running :)
anyway It works for me as well in 12-15-08 w2K. could also be related to the
new 'context menu' save image changes and 'save page as' stuff ben googer landed
that changed this behavior on win95.

This sounds like a win95/win98 problem only.
