RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1494436

People

(Reporter: jonasthiem, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko
Build ID: 20150421092928

Steps to reproduce:

Check for default browser is broken, incorrectly claims firefox nightly isn't and then sets thunderbird(??) to launch if I tell it to fix it.

Now all URLs open up a thunderbird process, which complains that thunderbird is already running and nothing happens with my URLs, while firefox is convinced in Preferences > General that "Nightly is currently your default browser".

Really annoying!
Also it seems to happen quite rarely and randomly when opening certain URLs, I just had it happen after opening an URL from gnome terminal.
OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64
Version: 39 Branch → 40 Branch
Component: Untriaged → Shell Integration
Just as a small update: I just had this happen again like half a week ago, so it's definitely not fixed.

Jonas, just to check in here - are you still able to repro this issue?

I think this is bug 1494436, I'm closing this in favor of that as there are clear steps to reproduce and I wrote up some analysis in bug 1494436 comment 1.
