User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0 Build ID: 20150430004002 Steps to reproduce: In my case, reproduce any video and pass the pointer mouse above the volume indicator. Actual results: Black section appears above the time indicator. The bug appears too in Nightly version. Expected results: Should show correct time indicator.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0 Build ID: 20150501004005 Your screenshot doesn't show just /any video/ but a YouTube video. These don't play through Firefox's built-in player, but YouTube's own complex HTML5 player. It works for me in Linux Mint KDE 17.1: * Cursor over the volume icon shows the tooltip “Mute”. * Cursor over the volume bar changes its colors a bit to highlight it. * Cursor over the seek bar shows the time and a thumbnail. * Cursor over the video shows nothing special. Please update your Firefox Developer Edition build, then test in a brand new profile. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles If the problem persists, 1. What Linux distribution, version and desktop environment are you using? 2. Type about:support into the location bar and press Enter. 3. Click the Copy Text to Clipboard button. 4. Paste the clipboard contents in a reply here.

(In reply to Bas Schouten (:bas.schouten) from comment #8) > Could you post your about:support graphics section to this bug? The graphics information in the comment #3. Still presents the bug on the version 38.0 stable and Developer edition. Very curious situation, with the theme FT DeepDark 12.0.1 disappears the bug. Appears only with default theme is active. I try it with other complete theme and the bug is still.
I want to comment on this problem. I'm having the same problem with Firefox, it happened to me when I updated to version 37. Happens on several Linux distro's. At the time when I typing this I using Firefox 38 on Ubuntu 14.04 and I still have the issue. Starting Firefox in safe mode without all add-ons or tweaks didn't fix the problem neither using a new profile. It happens on multiple systems, one has a Intel GPU, the other has a Nvidia GPU with the Nvidia drivers installed. This problem seems to have something to do with HTML5 because this problem only occurs when I use the HTML5 player on YouTube. On the Flash player it doesn't happens. I have created a screen-cast of the problem. At the time I recorded this I was using Kubuntu 14.04. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_QVgapuAuU

Lee, do you see this problem?
(In reply to Milan Sreckovic [:milan] from comment #11) > Lee, do you see this problem? I am not able to reproduce the problem on my end, unfortunately. I tried with nightly and an older version (38) as well.
Update.- The problem still presents in the 38.0.5 version. Apparently it's solved in the branch 40
With the new HTML5 player design, the bug it's fix!, apparently.
