Environment:

FF ESR 31.7.0
FF 38
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 x86

STR:

1. Open a pdf file in Firefox.
2. Print the file.

Issue:
The print quality is extremely low the characters look faded and pixelated.

Do we only test on Ubuntu? Do we know if this impacts other distros?

This bug is reproducible only on Ubuntu. The other platforms (Windows and Mac) are not affected.

I'm also seeing this issue on several other webpages, which are not PDFs, like:

This issue is still reproducible on Firefox 56.0b4, under Ubuntu 12.04x86.
I noticed that the resolution from Image Quality section is set by default to 300dpi on PDF pages, while on other pages is set by default to 600dpi. 
If I manually change the Resolution, the PDF pages are correctly printed.

Hello from year 2021 the Firefox 85 printouts of PDF still sux on FreeBSD (12) - they are blurry and poor quailty unlike other system pdf viewers. Please fix :-)

Ditto. There are multiple bugs opened over the last 8 years or so on blurry PDF output & still nothing fixed.

Chrome/Brave/Chromium produce crisp PDFs w/o any issues.

This issue is not reproducible anymore using the latest Firefox 124.0 build on Ubuntu 22. I'm closing it as WFM.
