I'm using big fonts, and the preferences dialog can't be resized, so I can't see
all the preferences (they are cut off).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure big fonts in your windows setup.
2. Open Mozilla and the preferences dialog

To preferences. This seems to be a recurring problem...
llanero@jazzfree.com, what particular preference panel is cut off?
Assignee: pchen → sgehani
Component: XP Apps → Preferences
The main preferences dialog. Edit->preferences.
I'm using big fonts and the right items are cut off.

Yes. But the right items on _which_ panel in preferences? Or on all panels?
What's selected in the tree on the left when you open the dialog?
Please, see shots at:

hope this helps better.

Ben, could you remind me why we don't want the prefs dialog to be resizable?

Because most users will not know that content is hidden, nor many even how to
resize it, so that is not really a solution. All content should be visible, or
explicitly scrollable (e.g., lists that can grow without bound)

Note that sizing it to fit the content is fine, as long as the size doesn't
exceed target monitors. I'm not sure if mozilla has a policy on this, but in
practice I think we could assume that all users have at least 640X480, minus any
space taken by system menubars, taskbars, etc.
What we want to avoid is having panel authors resize their dialog on their big
monitor, never realizing that many others are unable to see the same content.

llanero, i get 'page doesn't exist' errors with those links. could you pls
attach the screenshots to this bug?
pls also look at the dependency list for bug 80392 --depending on the panel,
your problem might already be reported. thx!

I added the two shots.
I tested 0.9.7 (latest available). I have looked to two unfixed bugs depending
on 80392 and the have similar problems. They all are caused by using fonts
larger than the default. Then the preferences dialog is not big enough. As I use
"big fonts" the problem is visible in every panel, not just the ones that have
buttons with large fonts.
