Reproduced with Firefox 38.0.5 RC build

When users sign up to Pocket using FxA, they see a pop-up with few information about Pocket. 
There is a different experience when signing up with email - in this case there is a welcome tour showing all available options for Pocket.

Expected: Same on-boarding experience for users
FYI, Pocket is currently ab-testing different on-boarding experiences on web. It's likely this is what you were seeing.

This bug has been closed due to inactivity and/or the potential for this bug to no longer be an issue with the new Discovery Stream-powered New Tab experience, and improvements to Pocket’s integration with Firefox.

Please help us triage by reopening if this issue still persists and should be addressed.
