Hallo, when I downloaded my messages I use to turn off the internet connection. In the server settings of my mail account I told mozilla 0.9.7 to look each 1 minute for getting a new message from the server: When I turned the internet connection off each 1 minute I get the error message "Could not connect to server; the connection was refused". In Netscape 4.77 (engl) I used before I worked in the same way AND I NEVER got a message like this ! - I looked at your preferences for a switch to stop getting this message but I don´t find one. With the best wishes Rainer Schnell
Could confirm this bug on build 2002010303, Win98, for one simple reason: I'm trying to find a similar one in Bugzilla for ages. NS4x behaviour was exactly what reporter described. The only obvious workaround for Mozilla is to go offline but that wasn't needed in communicator. Steps to reproduce: 1. Activate biff ("Check for new messages every 1 minutes") 2. Have your dial-up connection open. 3. After a while, close dial-up connection and do not switch Mail client to offline state. 4. Wait one minute Actual results: Mozilla tries to connect to pop server and (obviously) fails, popping the associated message. Expected results: Mozilla detects that there's no tcp/ip connection (how?) and doesn't try to get messages from server. Still I'm not sure about the validity of this bug, the only thing I know is that Communicator's behaviour was radically different. Someone please explain.
