The Firefox OS team has built an interesting Proof of Concept around "Pinning the Web". In theory, that work is a terrifying new vision of how we will consume the web. In reality, I want to implement one idea that team surfaced, namely using site-specific Linked Data to reflect the site and relevant actions to users. Firefox for Android team has wanted to make the Top Sites displays richer for a long time. How about using <meta property="og:..."> tags to get better images? I.e., rather than capturing screenshots, we use a site-supplied image if we can? How about getting richer actions when tapping a Top Site that has Linked Data? I'm opening this for discussion more than quick action.
We've already done this for msapplication-TileImage: Bug 1014712 \o/
Depends on: 1014712
FYI, there's a toolkit module that has support for getting image metadata from the page: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/toolkit/modules/PageMetadata.jsm
