Steps to reproduce:
All of the search option (search box, address bar & mozilla start page) no longer work.
Actual results:
updated to 38.0.5 and everything quit working.
Expected results:
I've already tried refreshing firefox with no result.

Could you test:
1) in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
2) with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
If 2 works, reset your profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-to-fix-most-problems

I completely uninstalled firefox and reinstalled 38.0.5 - everything works fine now. Must have been a bad update to previous version.
