From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: 2001122106 On trying to log into this secure pages as well as http://www.merck-medco.com you get the error message: Unknown socket type. Loading aborted. This did not occur with 0.9.6 You do not have to have a valid account to see the problem on either page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to page 2.attempt to logon by pressing logon button 3. Actual Results: Got this error message: Unknown socket type. Loading aborted. Then pressed OK, tried several times, same result, closed Mozilla, tried again, same result. Used IE to conduct required business. Expected Results: I should have been able to logon to secure pages and carry out planned activities. I gather the two web pages simply did not recognize the socket and rejected it, but I wouldn't expect a major change between version 0.9.9 and 0.9.7.
This new message (see recently fixed bug #47617) is intended to warn you that, in most of the cases, you cannot access secure pages because PSM has not been installed in Mozilla. Bug #47617 comment #60 complains that the message is really hermetic and not really helpful in this form and I agree. Should be duped to 47617 unless you have PSM installed.
Reporter: Please don't unselect PSM during the installation. marking as dupe of bug 47617. Please reopen if you are sure that you have installed PSM *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 47617 ***
