Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.77C-CCK-MCD {C-UDP; EBM-APPLE} (Macintosh; U; PPC)
BuildID: 2001122104
when i check my email it asks for my password even tho it has been told to use
password manager to remember it. then when i re enter my password it tells me
'error on login, password incorrect' or 'error on login, account is already in
use'.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.launch mozilla
2.check email
3.enter password
I just checked on my windows build (latest debug). Password is being saved
properly and retrieved on the next launch. I checked this on my Windows box. I
believe that the behavior as far as storing passwords is cross platform in nature.
Teri, Can you check your privacy manager (Tasks->Privacy & Security->Password
Manager->View Stored Passwords) and let us know if you are finding an entry as
soon as you save your password and also when you fail. If you can, use the
latest build as we will be using the latest one to confirm/resolve it. thanks.
Ninoschka, can you check if this is happening on Mac ? thanks.

This happens occasionally for me on my school account. I narrowed it down to the
fact that my server only lets me check my email every 3 minutes. If I check it
any sooner than that (i.e. mail biff checks then i check 1 minute later) I'll
get a message that the my account must wait XX seconds until I can check again.
(this sounds just like account is already in use)
Mozilla takes this error message on authentication as a "password incorrect"
error and then tells password manager to forget the password. It then prompts
the user for the password. If the user fills it in and hits ok, it tries the
server again only to get the same error (with different seconds)
I solved this by turning off mail biff and not checking my email more than once
in a 3 minute period. Reporter, does this describe what you are seeing? Try
turning off "check for new messages every XX minutes" and see if that solves the
problem.
