Details
One of the Vagrant setup steps is "edit the hosts file".
There are Vagrant plugins that support making this change - and now it seems there are even some that support Windows (and give a UAC prompt if needed).
We'll need to see:
(a) If |vagrant plugin install foo| is more hassle than editing the hosts file - and if we can auto-prompt the user if they don't have the plugin installed (should be doable: http://stackoverflow.com/a/25918153)
(b) What the experience is on Windows (if it prompts for UAC every time, might get annoying - guess we could disable on Windows and leave that step in the install steps just for them?)

Bug 1315818 has made the need for this manual first-time setup step redundant :-)
