"Search Messages" dialog. The Second dropdown list changes based on what is
selected in the First dropdown list, so allowing multiple selections in the
first dropdown list is not doable (or would have to be complex enough to only
allow checking items that share the same items in the second menu).

The left dropdown menu in the Advanced Search window should have an "any field"
option.
And let this be a request also for the Address Book's advanced search.
Here an example of why this would be neat.
If you have a phone number and want to search for who owns it, it would be quite
awkward to make 5 lines/rules for "match: WorkPhone; HomePhone; Fax; Pager; Mobile"
