+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1174159 +++

The conversion to NTLMv2 created longer response lengths, which are now perilously close to the 512 character limit of the current SMTP protocol implementation. Support a long response, either through a multiple line response, or by extending the length to greater than 512 characters (after testing that major NTLM-supporting server support this).

Version 91 has all new smtp backend code. If you can still reproduce this issue, please file a new bug report https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MailNews%20Core&component=Networking%3A%20SMTP
