As we are using github to store our gui releases (https://github.com/mozilla/mozregression/releases) we could ask via the github API if there is a new release available to install!
We should then display that information in a smart way (not too intrusive) so the user can take action to install the new release.
The install would be manual then, but at least the user would be informed. :)
