Details
There should be a dropdown list under the search field saying:
Start from top of page
Start from cursor position
Start from bottom of page
Selecting "top of page" should then make the "search backwards" checkbox
disabled, whereas "bottom" should automatically check the checkbox.

current behavior is "start with current selection" (identical to that of NS
4.x).

IMHO this controls should be usefull for average users - average user don't
imagine hidden cursor somewhere inside page and don't know, that search begins
right there. Also, scrolling to the top of page and clicking in document to set
where search could start, isn't very user-friendly.
This feature is usefull, we need better controls for it. I would ask, if
Mozilla's layout allows expanding dialogs? Common controls are on default
dialog, after clicking on 'More' button is dialog resized and next controls appear.
