Steps to reproduce:

I originally sent this to one of my old friends from Netscape who stayed on ...Dan Mosedale who is an Mozillian from way back, but he said he couldn't help me and to send it over to you guys..hope you can help.

Firefox 39 will have the older behaviour, it should be released in a week or so.
Bug 1169529 is about possibly having further improvements.
