I am running Windows 8 and 10 in VMware Fusion (on OS X). If I configure my Windows VMs to have just one virtual processor (and 2048 MB RAM), seeking in Netflix's Silverlight player will hang Firefox or even the entire VM. If I configure my Windows VMs to have two virtual processors (and 2048 MB RAM as before), seeking in Netflix's Silverlight works smoothly. I've reproduced this problem with Firefox 38.0.5 and Beta 39 on Windows 8 and 10.
Netflix's EME player doesn't have this problem.
