From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: One of the websites I frequent (www.doom-metal.com)uses the Ikonboard forum software for its online forums. As of 0.9.7 I cannot post any new messages to it. Answering to a post and pressing "Post" does nothing, Mozilla just sits there. IE 6 on the same site works flawlessly. Probably some sort of Javascript problem. BTW, in my Javascript settings I have everything switched on except "script can open windows by themselves", not sure if it is relevant. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://doom-metal.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi 2.go to any of the forums there and try replying to any message 3.type in your reply and press "Add Reply" 4.Nothing happens. Mozilla just sits there. Actual Results: Nothing happened. Expected Results: The message should have gotten posted and the page should have been reloaded with my reply added to the thread.
Reassigning to Browser-General until we can get more information. This is not likely to be a problem within JavaScript Engine. Jacek: 1. What happens if you enable "script can open windows by themselves"? Does that make the problem go away? 2. Do you see any errors in Tasks > Tools > JavaScript Console? (be sure to clear it of any previous errors first)

i signed up for the main board at ikonboard (user name tst, password: tst) and it works fine there. Though I see the issue on http://doom-metal.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi. (0.9.7 win98) I get no errors on both.
Severity: major → normal
The forum comment form has a file attachment field which you are presumably leaving blank. Mozilla 0.9.7 will fail to submit such forms; the problem is described in the release notes. This is fixed on the trunk. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 116210 ***
