Firefox version: 42.0a1 (2015-07-05)
Addon version: 31.0.20150313.1-signed
Click on a bookmark folder and click "Add Bookmark Here..." to add a bookmark. It adds the bookmark at the bottom of the list.
Normally it should add the latest bookmark to the top of the list.

This is with the addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-bookmark-here-2/ correct? It seems that this is a problem in the addon, and should be reported to the addon author instead of bugzilla.mozilla.org

Author states known issues with FF 40 are fixed, per http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14271911#p14271911
