When connecting my phone with MTP to an OS X computer, neither Image Capture nor Photos can import photos from they device. They do not recognize that an importable device is plugged in at all. System Information understands that it's plugged in. Redacted slightly: ____ (B2G): Product ID: 0x____ Vendor ID: 0x0fce (Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB) Version: _.__ Serial Number: ____ Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Sony Location ID: 0x1d130000 / 5 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 500
OSX has no direct support for MTP. My understanding is that you need to copy any files off the phone using this tool: https://www.android.com/intl/en_ca/filetransfer/
