STR: 0. Git clone B2G in a Debian 8.1 container (LXC)
Looks like the report in bug 1098983 comment 7

It is building fine on my Ubuntu 14.10 FYI ...
Blocks: aries-l
Much fun, I've just noticed the "-L" argument changed the device directory build from "B2G-Sony-AOSP-L" to "B2G-Sony-AOSP", no wonder why ld cannot find the files :).
So the "-L" was the trick. Renamed my directory to B2G-Sony-AOSP_Lollipop, and the link step succeeds. Something is eating the "-L" part and breaks the build. I'm marking this as fixed but feel free to reopened if you think there's a real bug to fix.

Summary: Building B2G fails at link for nspr4 plc4 plds4 → B2G build fails at link stage because of top dir named with "-L"
There may or may not be a real bug, but since I can't reproduce, you'd have to figure out how that -L disappears on your own.

I also used the suffix "-L" as my directory name before, so got these errors while building flame-L. The behavior is so weird.

As I know dir name with -l may cause error in some machines. I solved this kind of error for someone by renamed the dir, but I didn't reproduce this on my machine :(

(In reply to Mike Hommey [:glandium] from comment #5) > There may or may not be a real bug, but since I can't reproduce [..] This just bit me. The tree root is /home/sewardj/MOZ/B2G-24-07-2015-L-ARI
(In reply to Alexandre LISSY :gerard-majax from comment #4) > So the "-L" was the trick. Renamed my directory to B2G-Sony-AOSP_Lollipop, […] I got the same issue with aries lollipop while building in a directory named "device-2". I did not had any issue with aries kitkat builds with directory named "device-1" and "device-3", so this might be a real issue in the build system of lollipop.
Summary: B2G build fails at link stage because of top dir named with "-L" → B2G Lollipop build fails at link stage because of top dir named with "-L" or "-2"
Very likely to have been properly fixed by bug 1243349
