From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: 2001122108 The icon that says whether one is connected to a SSL-ed server doesn't show the closed lock one would expect. It just shows the open lock for "unsecured server". Looking at the traffic with tcpdump says that the traffic flows to port 993, however. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.create a mail account for an IMAP server with SSL connection on 2.connect to that server Actual Results: I don't see the closed lock icon Expected Results: closed lock icon How do I now *really* determine if I'm using a secured connection or not? How do I re-view the server's certificate ?
dont know if it applies to IMAP servers and is suppose too.. padlock is mostly for encrypted websites. and there is a bug for tab-browsing not showing the padlock in bug 101723.. which maybe is similar to this?
you can click on the pad-lock icon which will bring up the information you are looking for.

I know the pad-lock icon was removed from the compose view not that far back. Secure Imap is not relative to the pad-lock problem.
The icon has been taken out sometime between 0.9.7 and now, as mentioned in the duplicate bug. Resolving to INVALID.
