It looks like that patch didn't change any pref values though?

This is a bit of a misunderstanding. The value of layers.d3d11.disable-warp preference is used together with some internal information to determine if we should use WARP. If this preference is set to FALSE, we will internally make a decision whether to use WARP or not, and in the case of Windows 7 or lower, we will not use it, even if that preference is set to FALSE. Setting the preference manually to TRUE would force us not to use WARP on any version of Windows.
To see if we are actually using WARP or not, you have to look at the "GPU Accelerated Windows" entry - it will say something like "Direct3D 11 WARP (OMTC)" when we are using WARP; in the McBain case above, for example, that value is instead "Basic (OMTC) Blocked for your graphics driver version..." which means we are not using WARP, which is what we'd expect.

However, these systems are using WARP: KalEl, Shadowsong, MiniHP, Zito, so we need to check if the second patch has taken care of it.
Anthony, let's see if we can repeat the simple with the latest dev edition, on these four systems only - start, open about:support and see if the "GPU Accelerated Windows" says WARP or not.

@ssimon, can you please run the following check on KalEl, Shadowsong, MiniHP, Zito?
1. Install http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora/firefox-41.0a2.en-US.win32.installer.exe
2. Start it with a new profile
3. Open about:support and scroll down to the Graphics section
4. Verify the value of "GPU Accelerated Windows" does *not* contain "WARP"
Thanks

I checked KalEl, Shadowsong, MiniHP, and Zito, following the instructions provided.
All these systems do not contain "WARP" under "GPU Accelerated Windows" in the about:support page.
I've attached about:support files for each of these systems.
Thanks

So, Shadowsong was tested correctly, in that the old driver was used. The other three systems had updated drivers on them for the second test, so we can't really tell if the behaviour would have been correct with the original (2009) drivers. For example, for Kalel, comparing the first run (https://bug1184193.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=8635399) and the second one (https://bug1184193.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=8638662), the driver dates and versions are different.

I restored all systems (except Shadowsong) to original drivers and retested. I'm still not seeing the WARP values present. I've attached about:support and dxdiags for this run. All files have the suffix '_730'. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!
