User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0 Build ID: 20150630154324 Steps to reproduce: Here's the sample link. http://i.imgur.com/6dGFjgJ.gifv If i opened that gif, then right click->save video as; Sometimes it give me the webm, but more often it give me gifv. If i download the gifv, they unusable, because the gifv filesize is only 5 kb or so. Actual results: Inconsistency "save video as" behaviour, sometimes it give the correct webm, but more often it give me gifv. The gifv is unusable, since it's not the real file. Expected results: It should give me webm.

This might be an imgur evangelism issue, or possibly an issue with how we're sending our request. Passing to front-end folks for further triage. FWIW, I do get webm from the example link.

I do get gifv every single time no matter what I do. Firefox 46 Dev, Win8 64-bit. Example link: https://i.imgur.com/lDwSHXi.webm This link will redirect to .gifv, .gifv is actually a HTML page with <video> & 2 <source> tags (webm, mp4) When you right click "Save Video As", you get .gifv (html) file instead.

I can also reproduce the .gifv on Google Chrome Dev 50.0.2652.0 as well as Firefox.

(In reply to Alice0775 White from comment #4) > I can also reproduce the .gifv on Google Chrome Dev 50.0.2652.0 as well as > Firefox. By reproducing you mean reproduce the bug? Because here if I save as on Chrome (50.0.2657.3) it ALWAYS provide webm but on Firefox it SOMETIMES give a gifv (which is actually an HTML file) just like user story.

I can reproduce this bug consistently on Firefox 54.0.1 on macOS Sierra with a clean profile. I almost always end up with the html page, instead of the video, on imgur. For example on this page: http://i.imgur.com/p6QTfbP.gifv
