I am very confused-these instructions are super unclear. Am I supposed to type in this very long token in the phone? Is this for some sort of REST API? should we link to whatever help / docs instead? because this is super puzzling to me :-o

What's the use case here?  Firefox OS and Firefox for Android should present the QR scanner when connecting, so there's no need for the token string there.

Are using one of those devices, or are you doing something else?

I got this screen when trying to use the QR scanner. I don't know why this showed up. That's why I'm so confused :)

Is this behavior you can reproduce?  If so, what are the steps?

The token should be initially hidden, and only shown if you click the link "No QR scanner prompt?", as in the screenshot here[1].

Yes, I clicked the link "No QR scanner prompt?" because the QR scanner disappeared from the phone screen and I thought that maybe it would reopen the QR scanner :-)

Aha, fair enough.  I've morphed the summary to focus on clarifying the purpose of the auth token then.

Temporarily setting P3 to bugs migrated from webide to cleanup the triage for about:debugging.
