Since the changes in bug 1165981 (specifically the omission of Silverlight from the NPAPI whitelist), I'm forced to use another browser than Firefox 64-bit to watch Magine TV (http://magine.com), a service I paid for, which requires Silverlight for use with Firefox. Magine TV is a relatively popular TV streaming service in Sweden, Germany and Spain.

This bug also affects an unknown number of other streaming and multimedia services; Netflix comes to mind, or Maxdome, one of the bigger video-on-demand services in Germany and Austria.

I'm afraid if this makes it to the release, it won't exactly help the adoption of Firefox 64-bit, at least not in Germany, the only developed country where Firefox is still the top browser. It's rather something that will accelerate the erosion of its user base towards other browsers.
