The server is back up now.

Pascal, looking at cronjobs, you have a bunch of jobs that are all scheduled at */15.
flod has a few on a similar schedule.

I can see how those jobs could be harmful on the server if things pile on top of each other badly.

Disk and load look good right now.

The only script running /15 for me is "git pull" on 3 folders (moved to /30 just in case).

The only expensive one runs ever 2 hours at :40 for webstatus.

I don't think it can be related, those are simple svn ups and git pulls, they have been there for years and take only a couple of minutes to be applied.
