Hi Marcia,

The training doc is complete for 2.1 but it is super long and detailed. As you have mentioned in meetings, the doc is needed for the pre-launch activity. Could you confirm if you need such detailed doc or a shorter version will do?

If you would like to have a shorter version of it, please make a copy of the document, add comments or edit it down that you see fit. The goal is to only localize what's needed and widely used/read content.

Hi Peiying,

The next launch that I have is with Telefonica Peru and it will be 2.0, not 2.1. Do we already have the training deck for 2.0 in Spanish? This is more urgent.

Thanks, Marcia.
Hi Marcia,

2.0 is complete. If everything is for 2.0, we are completely done. Please confirm so I will close the bugs. Thanks!
Hi Peiying,

For Telefonica, what I need so far is 2.0 only. Could you please send to me all the training decks and 2.0 materials in Spanish that you have? I need them to start preparing the launch campaign.

Thanks a lot, Marcia.
I will send you in an email on relevant info.

Regarding to bugs filed for 2.1 release, should I keep it open at all? If there is no need in the fordable future, I will close them.
Hi Peiying,

Is possible to keep them "on hold"? I don't have the plans for the future confirmed yet so as soon as I have the confirmed answer, I can let you know and you can close or start working on them. I'm saying for Spanish and Portuguese only, the other languages I don't know.

Thanks, Marcia.
I will do that. According to mana, 2.1 is needed. Let's get this clarified early next week as there is not much time left to cover it all.
hi Peiying,

Coming back to this topic. David told me it was 2.0 and now he clarified it is 2.1 so we will need the translation to Spanish for 2.1. Sorry about that.

For the deck, is possible to use the same deck of 2.0 and just add what is new on 2.1?

Thanks, Marcia.
+ Marvin

Marcia, I will leave it up to Marvin to decide how to customize the content for 2.1 from 2.0 (the two were drafted by different people and the styles are very different, not to mention the content). Also there is discussion to leave the training doc in English. Let me know if you need to have it localized in Spanish so we can plan accordingly.
If this will be used across many Spanish speaker countries, I think we'll need it to be in Spanish.
In the past, I saw some sell trainers (on Telefonica Mexico) having issues with training material that was only available in English with Spanish subtitles.
But I'll wait for Macia's response on it. :)
Hi Peiying,
The training decks have to be in Spanish as the sales reps usually don't speak English. I think we can keep the videos in English and just add subtitles in Spanish but the decks need to be in Spanish.
Thanks, Marcia.
Understood.

Mauricio, we have a very detailed training doc for 2.1 (you can compare it against the 2.0 version). I just shared with you on the 2.1 version.

Marvin, is it possible to make a simplified version of the current 2.1 size? I don't have the detailed Launch date but we don't have a lot of time left to localize the content. Please indicate what the next step can be so the l10n community can plan accordingly. Thanks!

Hi there,

The launch will be in September. I don't have the launch date yet but we think it is going to be in the beginning of the month.

Thanks, Marcia.
Hi Peiying,
I can't see how I can simplify it. The propose of this deck used to give audience full understanding on Firefox OS by going thru slides. maybe sales knows what are the key area they wanted to focus and to point out which are priority?

if those audience sales planning to reach are familiar with our 2.0 version, I guess we can remove
- all the Tips and User scenarios slides.
- slide 27th, 28th, 40th, 42th, 43th, 51th, 52th, 64th, 69th, 70th, 71th, 80th, 109th ~ 119th.

above, hope this help.

BR,
Marvin
Flags: needinfo?(mkhoo)
btw, i do my best here since those slides i mentioned above are quite the same as previous version, so.

if we have more time, i would still suggest we keep all of it.

we did tried to simplify it while drafting.. :)

BR,
Marvin
Hi Marvin,
The audience are not necessary familiar with 2.0 version, it is better to keep as much as possible.
Thanks, Marcia.
Hi Mauricio,

Looks like we will stick to the current content of 2.1. Let's get started as it will take some time to complete. You already have access and let me know if I need to give access to other volunteers: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fBO6sRhO_nXme3nnXMUeCr_23fI_yTeQfXC6xhGjvkE/edit#slide=id.p4.

Due to typical text swell in Spanish (as compared to English), if needed, please reduce font size so the content fit the same page.

Thank you!
Peiying

Thank you!
I know there are other volunteers on Mozilla Hispano interested on this. I'll let you know when we need others to access the doc, and we'll do our best on this! :)

Hello Mauricio,

Could you comment on the progress of this document? Did you get my email on this? The launch date is approaching. I want to make sure someone or a group of people are working on this.

Thanks!
Hi everyone, I will help with this.
I already asked for editing permissions. Who else is on this? so we can split the work.
Hi!
I will help with this, too :)
I have given both of you access to the file. Thanks for collaborating on this project. It is very long. After you are done, make sure going through the file in its entirety so the styles are in sync. Also, feel free to reduce the font size to make the same content fit on one page as that in English. Thanks a lot!
Adding Penserbjorne to cc list. :)
Hi, I've been talking with Mauricio about this and I want help to localize for spanish. :)
My account of gmail is sir.penserbjorne@gmail.com.

sir.penserbjorne@gmail.com, invite link sent. Thanks for collaborating. Quite a few people have signed up on this. I hope it is clear who is doing what.
Thanks!

I'll start tonight, so, is anybody doing something? Will have a supervisor? or just begin to edit? :P
I've found a tiny nitpick in original English presentation. Slide #52 talks about deleting a contact, but the screenshot shown still belongs to the Import contacts process described in slide #51.
Hi Mash and Mavin, could you address question raised in comment#27

Hi Peiying, Ricardo,

I've updated the screenshot. should be ok now.

Hi Everyone, could you confirm if the document is localized and reviewed, and ready to hand off?

I am adding Marcia, who is waiting for your confirmation. Thanks for working on this big document.
Hey everyone,

As I have seen, there is still quite a lot of work to do. I couldn't work on this before due to internet connecion issues, but I will do as much as I can today.

I hope Penserbjorne, Mauricio and Daniel are also able to go on with this :)
Hi, Im still working on this but I was on exams :S but I'll try to do as much as I can today at night :)
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this large document. In checking the progress, a lot is still left to be worked on. Could you divide the doc up by features? Maybe you can each comment on which range of pages you are each taking on. Of course those who didn't translate the section can review it.
Hello, just a reminder that less than half of the document is localized. Starting on page 47, other than headers, almost all strings are in English. The launch is coming up and we need to have this document ready 2 weeks prior. In addition, we need someone to go through the entire document to ensure consistency throughout the entire doc.
Hello everyone.

I guess that maybe Penserbjorne is not available to work on this anymore. Daniel and I were doing the proofreading and I wanted to be the one to go through the entire document once it was fully localized - I usually do this in the Spanish l10n team.

I will try to find someone else in our team to work on this. If nobody is available for this, I will do the localization.

I am sorry, Peiying - but don't worry, it will be ready.

Thanks for your patience.
Hello,

I can give you all a hand with localizing. But it might take me a couple of days due to my schedule is slightly tight. When do you need it for?

Frank
Hello, everyone,

It seems we have a couple new localizers (Frank, Gabriela and Joel). Frank has already introduced himself, but Gabriela and Joel will probably be doing it soon enough. I will help them in anything they need, and proofread the localization as soon as they finish.

If you want to grant them access to the document and add them to the CC list even before they access this bug, tell me and I will give you their e-mail addresses, Peiying.

Thank you very much for your patience, once again.
Hello
I could help with this training doc, could you grant me the access?
regards
I have granted Frank and Joel access. Anyone else?
Also, check the structure of the deck, it is broken down by features. If you split it up by features, so you know among yourself who is working on that. Make sure the terms referenced match the actual product. When in doubt, you can check the terms here: https://transvision.mozfr.org/ - Select Gaia 2.1, Target Language in "es". Key in a term to search when you don't know what the correct terms should be.

Thank you all!
Great. I'll work on it shortly. Thanks Peiying.
Joel and Gabriel, there is 14 features left to translate. I will take the first 5 starting from "Contactos" until "Reloj".

Then someone else can do another 5 features and the other 4 feat. the person left.

If you rather do less work due to availability, confirm this with us so we can change the workload.
Ok i'll take from "musica" úntil "vídeos"
I'll be sharing the progress tomorrow
Thanks, Frank and Joel. Please, keep me updated on this, so I can do the proofreading.

Hello Peiying, I'd like to help with the Spanish translation. Could you please give e access?
@Gabriela, You now have access. Check what other people are doing and split the load with them. Thanks for the help.
Gabriela, would you like to do the last 4 features? That'd be from "Marketplace" to "Ayuda en Mozilla".

Yes, I'll do those for now. Thanks!
i'm done with my features
Grat job, Joel, I will go ahead and give them a look.

Thank you very much!

How are you doing with this, Gabriela and Frank?
Trying to do as much as I can. Could you please tell me if there is a deadline for this? Thanks!
Great to see all the collaborations among you and so much progress being made.

As for deadline, we are lucky that the launch date has been postponing from Sept to Oct. Is it possible to get everything done in three to four weeks at the latest? Thank you all!
Thanks Peiying, a pleasure.

Alba, features are sorted on my side. Do you need more help?
Thank you very much, Frank - It is OK, I will work on the proofreading and probably have it ready by Sunday.

Gabriela, do you need help? Maybe Frank can help you, if you do!

Thank you very much, you are a great team! And thanks, Peiying, you have been patient and awesome

Alba, I am trying to do as much as I can. I am not sure if I'll be able to finish by Sunday though

How are you doing with this, Gabriela? Do you need any help? Maybe Frank or Joel can help you, if you need it :)
I think so, yes. Thanks! I'm sorry, I'm having a lot of work these days..., actually too much :(
almost done. just another seven slides to finish.
Awesome, Joel. Tell us as soon as you finish and I will go ahead and review everything. Thanks!!!
Hello! The localization has been completed and I am currently doing a final check of the document. It will be ready soon (probably tomorrow).

Thanks everyone for your amazing job. And thanks, Peiying, again, for your patience.
No problem Alba! It was fun to do the translation, sorry for my delay though!
I am about to finish reviewing this.
The screen captures are not in Spanish, though. Is there anyone who can take care of that - I don't think I have the time for that, but I could do one final check.
We are going to leave the screenshots in English unless there is strong desire to do it. If it is there case, they need to be resized and there are a lot of them, as you can see.
ok for me, we can leave in English.
Thanks, Marcia.
Thank you all for the group effort!! I am sure the partner and the stores would find it very useful and valuable in their training.

Marcia, this is yours now. Let me know if we can close the bug.
Hey! I think there are a couple of things that need one final check. Do you mind if I do this tomorrow (it is 12 AM over here now and I really need to sleep) in the morning and tell you?
Absolutely! We have time, ;-).
Thanks a lot everybody for all the hard work. Once the deck is finalized, where can I access it? Could you please send me the link or the file?
Thanks again, Marcia.
Thanks Peiying ;-)
