Pretty much an upstream issue. If a mobile view is wanted for MediaWiki there is https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MobileFrontend

Superseded.
The extension MobileFrontend was installed on WMO and rolled-out to the production server 19/07/2015 (ref bug 1051189).
I believe the problem has gone away.
