From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: 20011221 When I first installed the build, I noticed that when I click on the FILE button to move an e-mail, my folders, subfolders, were not in alpha order any more. Then I started to use the click and drag method to move them and those WERE in order. Now as I've added new subfolders, the list on the left frame is no longer in alpha order. It seems arbitrary, not even by creation order or anything. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. see description 2. 3. Actual Results: order of mail subfolders not alphabetical or any other order I can figure out Expected Results: should be alphabetical by default
I have this same problem with the OS X builds of 0.9.7, only I can't even drag them to make them right. Sometimes a folder with a name starting with a B is last, other times a folder starting with a z is first. Renaming them sometimes puts them inthe middle when they should drop to the bottom, so there seems to be no logic to the ordering of files. 0.9.6 doesn't have this problem, nor do the 0.9.7 and up mach-0 builds. Could someone please take a moment to attend to this, since many of us are (foolishly perhaps) trying to DEPEND on Mozilla? Or could we at least have a note in the Release Notes about it and how to hack it , PLEASE?
I tried hiding the Mozilla prefs folder (~/Library/Mozilla) and a used a recent nightly build (0.9.7+) to reimport my now-ancient Netscape 4 mail. The folder order was still jumbled and random. Renaming folders (using a zz in front of the folder name) does not drop the renamed folder to the bottom. In some cases they reappear as the top folder after a Quit/Open cycle. Have not been able to find an editable pref to change this behavior. Note that Bug 122885 appears to be a duplicate of this bug.
this seems to have been fixed a few months ago. (dup of 115071) please verify, or reopen if the problem exists. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 115071 ***
