Repro Steps: 1) Update a Aries to 20150812231434 2) Select browser. 3) Save an image of your choice. 4) Click the download notification. (User is taking to image) 5) Select Messages 6) Attach the saved image. Actual: User receives the following message. "There is a problem opening image(x).jpeg. I don't think it's a graphics issue, seems like :djf is person to ask since I'm assuming the gallery app would be used to open image in such cases. (I actually didn't know that we supported this feature)

Weird bug! This is not a graphics issue or a gallery app issue. The dialog shown is not from Gallery. I don't know where it is from, but am guessing the error is in the download manager code. In the video, the user asks to save the image, and then sees the image, but never gets any confirmation that it has been saved. I think the error is happening at this point, but the user does not see the error dialog or have a chance to dismiss it. Next, they try to attach the downloaded image to a message. When they ask to pick an image from the gallery, they don't see the gallery app, but instead see the error dialog that was not visible before. I don't know why the download manager is failing to save the image (maybe the logcat has details on that) but the fact that the error message is appearing at the wrong time is what make this bug so weird. Perhaps there are issues in the window management code? You might want to get someone from the system app involved on this one. If this reproduces for any image download/save in the browser, I'd say it should be a 2.2 blocker (if that is still a thing)

David, thanks for the explanation. Peter, could you ni? the QA owner for the sfe or windows management? Thanks!

According the STR, after step (4) "Click the download notification and leave via press homescreen", I checked gallery and found the download file exists. Thus, I do not think this is a download issue. Another observation: If user tap the "<" button to close activity window after opened the download image from notification, this issue would NOT happen. Hi Gregor, Could you help to dispatch this issue to the suitable person to investigate? Thank you.
