Steps to reproduce:

1) Sign in and Sync both Firefox and Firefox Dev on the same machine.

2) Make Firefox Dev edition your default browser.

3) Open Firefox 


Actual results:

Firefox asks to be my default browser.


Expected results:

If I am using Firefox dev as my default browse, is it really practical for fire fox to ask me to be its default browser. I clearly have already chosen a higher tier version of Firefox as my preferred browser and do not feel it logical for firefox to offer me this option. I am a QA Software Analyst and like anyone else choosing to use the Developer Edition, has done so for a reason and is perfectly capable of manually changing their default browser if they need to. I realize this issue is a bit trivial, but for those of us that test software, this sticks out like a sore thumb. Especially when both versions are Synced to the same user. Firefox should yield to firefox dev edition. This is like if Visual Studio Community edition asked me if I wanted to switch from Visual Studio Professional. Yes I can say do not ask me again but why should I have to.

This isn't really a sync bug, and I can certainly see the point that Firefox needn't request to make itself the default browser when another installed version of Firefox already is the default browser, so I'm confirming the bug and moving to the correct Firefox component and making it depend on another bug that is handling all "default browser" issues.

It is by design. Regular Firefox and Firefox Dev edition are treated as different browsers. (But other branches are not.)
