The homescreen isn't responsible for drawing this part of the app, so there's not a huge amount we can do, but we should consider either tinting its colour to match the background or even making it opaque when the long-press menu is visible, to make it look better aesthetically.

I think this looks a lot nicer (though it also seems to expose a bug in system wrt statusbar colour, but we can fix that separately...)
