[2]If there is not set a default mail client, “Email Link” button does nothing.
Additional notes:
- This issue is reproducible on Firefox 43.0a1 (2015-08-26), Firefox 41 Beta 4, Firefox 37.0.2 under Windows 7 64-bit and Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit.
- I am not sure if this issue is not Thunderbird related.
- This issue is not reproducible using another client mail such as Opera.
- This issue only reproduces when Firefox is opened using the command window (terminal).

This WFM on Mac 10.9 using the latest nightly (2015-08-31), with Thunderbird 38.0.2.
I tried both using the command line and using the icon to start Firefox.
Also WFM on Windows 8, using Firefox 40.0.3.
Summary: Sending a hello link via Email displays a Thunderbird error → Sending a hello link via Email displays a Thunderbird error (when Firefox started via command line)

this is working for the dev on the nightly as well as production - can you take another look?

This issue is still reproducible on Firefox 43.0a1 (2015-09-06) under Windows 7 64-bit. There are a few mandatory conditions in order to reproduce this issue:
1. Thunderbird must be running
2. Thunderbird must be set as default mail client
3. Firefox must be opened using the command window

Ok, I believe this is a general issue with Firefox & mailto links and this button, since we're more or less treating it as an email link in the backend. Hence moving to a more appropriate product/component.
Component: Client → Startup and Profile System
Product: Hello (Loop) → Toolkit

I believe this would still apply to email links in general. Hence changing the subject.
Summary: Sending a hello link via Email displays a Thunderbird error (when Firefox started via command line) → Sending a link via email displays a Thunderbird error (when Firefox started via command line)
