Steps to reproduce:
1. Be on HiDPI OS X and make your window fairly large.
2. Go to http://codepen.io/creotip/pen/HoECL?editors=001 , and maybe use the buttons in the bottom right corner to put the JS code on the left and the page on the right.
3. Wait for the loading animation to finish.
4. Scroll down until the "Slide Backgrounds" box fills the whole scrollbox.
5. Click on the big white arrow on the right.
6. After the slide animation, wait for half a second.
Now the slide turns a grayish shade of green. This does not happen with APZ off.

I can no longer reproduce this.
