RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 99243

People

(Reporter: phillipbarnett, Assigned: radha)

Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7+) Gecko/20020116
BuildID: 2002011606

The last milestone, 0.9.7, has lost the back and forward functions. The Back and
Forward buttons are greyed out, as are the menu items.(Go->Back) This is still
the case with the latest nightly build (2002011606)
I have to use tabbed browsing to open any new link to get around this problem.
This occurs on all new pages I visit. Previous milestones worked for me.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open random URL
2.Click on random link and open that URL with left mouse button.
3.Back button greyed out and unresponsive.

Actual Results: No ability to navigate back, and presmably forwards, though
can't tell as no ability to go back in first case.

Expected Results: I should have been able to click on a highlighted Back
button, or the Go -> Back menu item, to return to previous page.

I'm running Mandrake 8.1 on a fast PC. I can't think I'm unique, but I can't
find any trace of thi in Bugzilla, and no-one seems to be talking about it on
the newsgroups (Google groups search)
.

you might try creating a new profile and to see if it still happens with a clean
profile. I've never seen Mozilla act like that.
I experienced this problem too when upgrading to 0.9.8 from 0.9.7+. When looking
through the prefs.js file, I found that browser.sessionhistory.max_entries had
been set to 0 somehow. Changing the value to something higher solved the problem.
related to bug 99243? ( which was fixed after this was filed. )
