I am trying to reproduce this problem, but I cannot figure out how. I pushed a commit to try to enable the tests, but they do not seem to be failing. Since I never saw them fail in the first place, could I get a confirmation that the tests appear to be fixed or an explanation of what to do to make them fail?

Seems like they are fixed. Let's land the patch to reenable them and see if it sticks.
