120774 - Could not access Applet's public methods through Javascript

We have experienced problems, when trying to call various methods
of an applet from javascript.
Sometimes, the same methods needs to be called with different parameters, but 
we have not been able to make any function calls to a java applet successfully.

The reverse process of the java applet calling javascript functions works fine, 
but does not help us in solving our problem.

what is going wrong, that will give us a chance to fix it - thanks.

i've the same problems... when you look in bugzilla, you find a lot of entries
with liveconnect problems or onInit() troubles... 

the problem is, that javascript cannot reference to java-methods until the java
object is initialized.. but mozilla triggers the onInit() to early, after
starting the plugin, not after initializing the java object.

so you always get java-script errors on the javascript-console... 

i've opened a bug  115998, but then, somebody tells me to have look on bug
106253 and close my bug... it describs the problem also, but fix it only for not
java-plugins :-((  now i reopend it....

This bug says platform:PC and OS:Windows 2000. I am experiencing
the same problem on Linux as well on build 2002050210. This
problem has been around for quite some times already.
