Details |
The audio will sound like it is skipping when the user moves the scrubber around while listening to a song.
Repro Steps:
1) Update a Aries to 20151001114357
2) Open the music app.
3) Play a song and move the slider around while the song is playing.
Actual:
The audio will sound like it is skipping when using the scrubber.
Expected:
The audio plays normal until the user releases the scrubber and then it will play from that point in the song.

Not requesting blocking on this issue as it seems pretty minor.

I've just posted a patch for Bug 996410 which takes advantage of the HTMLMediaElement.fastSeek() API. Unfortunately, seeking still sounds not great with certain files. I'm guessing that this is possibly a codec issue in either Gecko or Gonk and certain types of audio files are able to be seeked better than others.

[Tracking Requested - why for this release]:
Non-blocking issue, possibly affected by android codec.
