Details
This is a request for enhancement that is a superset of Bug 2920, which would
not only allow for the deletion/detachment of an attachment from received email,
but would further allow you to edit the attachment from within the mail client.
By allowing for deleting attachments, you can reduce the file size of mail
folders, but also by "detaching" the attachment by linking from the message to
the decoded attachment, you save filesize bloat due to MIME/UUEncode, or can set
save paths for attachments to a volume with more space.

Depends on: delete-attachment

I often want to keep a message but delete the ridiculously large <bloated
application> document attachment. This would be excellent.
(Hope it doesn't violate any standards, but who cares?)

This is not a dup of bug 44595 - that bug is for bugzilla, this bug is for
attachments in Mozilla email app.
